Gardaí have seized a sizeable amount of drugs after carrying out a number of raids in Portlaoise on Monday.
Working under Operation Recovery, Gardai executed three raids at three different locations in the town.
A man and a woman were arrested in the course of the operation but a Garda spokesperson confirmed to LaoisToday that both of these had been released without charge.
At 11.30am, a house in Rossvale, Portlaoise was searched and cocaine with an estimated street value of €3,000 was recovered.
One male in his mid-20s, who is from the local area, was arrested but later released.
At the same time, Gardai executed a raid at a house in St Brigid’s Place, Portlaoise, and cocaine valued at €1,000 was discovered.
One woman in her early 20s was arrested at the scene but she was also released.
In a third raid which took place at 10am, tablets and drugs paraphernalia were found in a house in Oak Park, Portlaoise.
These had an estimated value of €200 and one man is currently assisting Gardaí with their inquiries.
