Tributes have been paid to a Clonaslee man who made Malaga, Spain, his home, after his sudden death on Sunday, May 19.
Sean ‘Schillaci’ Corcoran was described as, ‘a son of Clonaslee’ and pillar of the Clonaslee St Manman’s GAA club.
Sean plied his trade as a butcher in Spain and was considering a return to Laois with his partner Krissiie and daughters Sarah Louise and Chelsea, as Sarah Louise starts primary school in September.
“It’s with a heavy heart that we have to post notice on the sudden, unexpected and tragic passing of Sean (Schilachi) Corcoran a son of Clonaslee and a pillar of our club,” said the club on Facebook.
They added: “Can we at the club send our sincerest condolences to Sean’s partner Krissie, and daughters Sarah Louise and Chelsea, to his mam Marie brother Enda and sisters Rita and Rose and all extended family and friends…Ar dheis go raibh anam…”
Sean’s friend Neil played tribute to the ‘son of Clonaslee’, praising his gifts in GAA and soccer, earning him the ‘Schillaci’ nickname after Italian soccer player Salvatore Schillaci.
“He was a very gifted sportsman. He played in goals in hurling up front in soccer. He had a technique for scoring goals which earned him the name ‘Schillaci’. He was always called Schillaci or Toto,” said Neil.
Sean is deeply regretted by his partner Krissiie and daughters Sarah Louise and Chelsea. Mother Marie, brother Enda, sisters Rita (Healion,Tullamore) and Rose (Daly Killoughey), brothers-in-law Joe and Conor. Sister-in-law Noreen, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Reposing in Lawless funeral home Mucklagh village on Saturday 25th May from 4pm until rosary at 8 pm.
Funeral arriving to St Manman’s church Clonaslee on Sunday 26th for 11.30am requiem mass. Burial after mass in St Manman’s Cemetery Clonaslee.
