Sinn Fein have chosen their final candidate to run in the upcoming Local Elections in May.
Cllr Aidan Mullins was ratified at a Convention last night to stand for Sinn Fein in next May’s local elections in the Portarlington/Graiguecullen Municipal District.
He will be campaigning to hold on to the Council seat he first won in 2014 in the District.
Speaking at the Convention he promised, if re-elected, to continue and to build on the work he commenced over the last 5 years.
He said: “The people of this Municipal Area placed their trust in me at the last election and I hope that my efforts since then have fully justified that faith.
“If given the opportunity to represent the District again, my promise is to build on that trust and to continue to give strong and honest representation to all constituents.”
Sinn Fein selected three candidates back in December to run in the other constituencies in Laois.
John Gormley was put forward with Cllr Caroline Dwane Stanley in the Portlaoise area while Lorna Holohan Garry will run in the Borris-In-Ossory/Mountmellick area.
