Gardaí in Kildare are appealing for witnesses following a fatal traffic collision where a man was struck by a 4×4 vehicle in Monasterevin.
Yesterday at approximately 6.50pm, a male pedestrian aged in his 40s was seriously injured when he was struck by a 4×4 vehicle on Dublin Road, Monasterevin.
He was treated at the scene by emergency services personnel but died a short time later. The driver of the 4×4 was uninjured.
The deceased has been removed to the mortuary at Nass Hospital where a post-mortem will be carried out.
The local Coroner has been notified and the Garda forensic collision investigators visited at the scene.
