Fifty Seven Boutique in Portarlington recently held its 16th consecutive Annual Hospice Coffee Morning – with another significant donation made to the very worthy charity.
Over €500 was raised with a steady flow of people through the doors over the course of the day.
Fifty Seven Boutique was founded on Portarlington’s Main Street in September 2003 by Mary Miller and Mary is delighted to say she has been running and growing this event every year since.
“This is one of my favourite days in the shop every year.
“We have a lovely get together with people from all walks of life enjoying a catch up with neighbours and friends.
“We like remembering all of our loved ones who we have lost to cancer over the years and raising very valuable funds for those helping to battle this disease on a daily basis.
“We were due to hold our day on the Thursday of the Ploughing Championships but due to our involvement in the Fashion Show at that we held it on the Friday.”
With the Local Elections in 2019 – and possibly a General Election too – there was a nod towards that too.
Local Fine Gael councillor Tom Mulhall dropped in as did Kildare South Fianna Fail TD Fiona O’Loughlin for whom Portarlington is now part of her constituency.
