A number of Laois commuters are set to be affected by the line improvements and service arrangements taking place over this weekend and the weekend of Saturday, October 6.
On their website, Iarnród Éireann say it is: “continuing its programme of line improvement works on selected Saturdays, focusing this year on the section between Newbridge and Ballybrophy.”
Friday September 14
Dublin to Cork and Cork to Dublin services will operate as follows;
The 8.25pm Cork to Heuston will operate to Limerick Junction only. Bus transfers will operate between Limerick Junction and Portlaoise with a second train operating from Portlaoise to Heuston.
The 9.00pm Heuston to Cork will operate to Portlaoise only. Bus transfers will operate between Portlaoise and Limerick Junction with a second train operating between Limerick Junction and Cork.
Saturday September 15
Portlaoise Commuter services will operate an hourly service between Heuston and Newbridge and Heuston only. The following alterations will apply.
The 7.25pm Portlaoise/Heuston train is deferred to 7.32pm.
The 9.25pm Portlaoise/Heuston is deferred to 9.32pm.
Dublin to Cork and Cork to Dublin services are set to operate as follows:
Dublin to Cork and Cork to Dublin services will operate every hour in each direction with bus transfers between Portlaoise and Limerick Junction. There will be no direct Limerick to Heuston and Heuston to Limerick services.
Saturday October 6
Dublin to Cork and Cork to Dublin services will operate as follows;
Dublin to Cork and Cork to Dublin services will operate every hour in each direction with a bus transfer between Portlaoise and Dublin Heuston on the following service – 8.25pm Cork to Dublin Heuston.
The 10.10pm Dublin Heuston to Portlaoise will operate to Kildare only with bus transfers from Kildare to Portlaoise.
