As any Electric Picnic veteran will tell you, at some point during the weekend, the wellies will get too uncomfortable, the cans of cider too warm and and the muck just too mucky.
However, there is a chance for respite thanks to ‘The Banquet.’
Foodies Derry Clarke and Clodagh McKenna today annouced an exclusive partnership to serve a five star fine dining banquet at the three day event using only the finest ingredients.
Partnering with Tesco finest Derry & Clodagh have co-created a mouth-watering menu for picnickers to enjoy, while also raising much needed funds for Temple Street Children’s University Hospital and Pieta House.
The dress code for the Ultimate Picnic Banquet is Black Tie come Festival Fabulous – attire will be provided but guests are more than welcome to bring along their Sunday best.
Guests will be treated to a gastronomic dining experience in sumptuous surrounds of Stradbally Estate with five star silver service at this year’s Picnic.
The menu features decadent dishes such as Irish salmon gravlax, dry-aged Irish Angus beef followed by honey roasted Peach with Amaretti crumble for dessert.
It will be a five course banquet, including vegetarian options such as tempura vegetables with Asian fusion flavours, gnocchi with wild Irish mushrooms, leek paired with truffle and parmesan dressing.
Lucky ticket holders to Electric Picnic are invited to join The Banquet fit for a king and sign up for a five star experience at the festival. Tickets to the Fine Dining Picnic are priced at €120 and are available online.
Denise Fitzgerald, chief executive, Temple Street Children’s Foundation said; “We’ve a long standing partnership with Tesco and Electric Picnic; to pair the two and raise vital funds for the little heroes of Temple Street is a recipe for a great weekend”.
Clodagh McKenna says there is nothing she loves more than music and food.
“To be creating a delicious Banquet at the iconic Electric Picnic is a dream! Derry Clarke and I will be cooking delicious seasonal dishes using the best of produce from the Tesco finest range and all proceeds will be going to Pieta House and Temple Street. So guests will be enjoying delicious food, with live music setting the ambiance and knowing that they are supporting these great Irish charities. It’s going to be epic!”
Seats are limited, with four sittings over the weekend, two on Saturday and Sunday at 1.00pm and 5.30pm with each sitting lasting approximately two hours.
