The Tour de Picnic, the Electric Picnic’s annual charity cycle, is gearing up for its tenth year.
Festival goers who sign up for the 80km bike ride and raise over €350 are given entry to the Stradbally event.
The ISPCC, Headway and the Jack and Jill Foundation are this year’s chosen charities.
For a deposit of €50, you can book your place to be guaranteed both your ticket to the festival and your place on the 80km cycle or 17km run, provided you meet your fundraising target.
Each person must raise a minimum of €395, or €350 for students, by Thursday August 30. The deposit is also counted towards your final fundraising total.
The royal treatment includes the fully supported 80km cycle or the 17km run, official Tour de Picnic jersey, snacks, water, packed lunch, burger and beer on arrival, baggage transfer, return bus ticket, return bike transfer, and of course a ticket to Electric Picnic 2018.
Lyndsey Holmes from LHPR says some well-known Irish names are getting on their bikes this year.
Speaking to Midlands 103, she said: “It’s very exciting.
“We’ve got the Minister (Housing) Eoin Murphy, he’s going to be on a bike for us.
“And we’ve also got a fantastic athlete – canoeist Jenny Egan who is a world champion in her field.
“We have a new sponsor this year in the Irish Dairy Council. Once again, the Electric Picnic is sold out this year so for many this is their last chance of getting their hands on a ticket.”
