Emergency services are attending the scene of an accident in Portlaoise this evening.
Members of the Gardai, ambulance and the Fire Services are currently on the scene in the town.
They are attending a car accident on Grattan Street which is located on the road out of the town heading for Mountrath.
LaoisToday understands that this was a two car collision.
Two men were travelling in one car with a man and a child in car in the other.
It is believed all four have been taken to Portlaoise Hospital where it is understood their injuries are not serious.
An eye witness said: “Gardai are currently diverting traffic at the Railway bridge and emergency services are everywhere.”
It is advised to avoid the area at present.
