Mountrath Community School have two entries in this year’s Junk Kouture competition.
One of them qualified directly for the Regional vote while the other won the lifeline vote to earn their place.
The project which qualified directly, ‘Camera Shy’, is made by Ellen Bergin (model), Aoife Dunne and Aisling Mulhall.
The stunning outfit is made from photo negatives and video reels and it represents self confidence and empowerment of women.
The second project, Frida Colour, made it through on the lifeline vote.
Frida colour is a Junk Kouture 2018 project by Liam Cleary, Erin Byrne and Alicia Byrne is a colourful paper dress made from recycled paper swatches.
There are a total of Laois projects in the Junk Kouture competition in the regional final on March 5 in The Helix, Dublin.
