A group of brave students and teachers from Laois are undertaking a daunting task in the name of a good cause.
Inspired from a daring suggestion from Year Head, Mr McNeill, students from Knockbeg College have embarked on a collective effort of raising funds for local charities.
Their unorthodox method is suitably apt for their unorthodox year group – a skydive.
The skydive, aided by the Irish Parachute Club, will commence on Thursday, April 10, in Clonbullogue, Offaly.
18 students and three teachers will confront the daunting task.
The brave students are Jack Milton, Cathal Brady, Tom Hughes, Jamie Duggan, Seán Murphy, Oscar Siney, Evan English, Conor George, Luke Kehoe, Seán Rainey, Jamie O’Gorman, William Doyle, and James Kelly.
They will be joined by Mr Bolger, Mr McNeill, Mr Cody.
The students themselves chose to brave the endeavour in aid of St Claire’s Hospitality and Sacred Heart Hospital, both in Carlow town.
Donations can be made here and are will contribute greatly towards their efforts.
