Excitement building as The Heath set to host second ever St Patrick’s Day parade

After its exciting debut last year, The Heath St Patrick’s Day parade returns for its second instalment on Monday, March 17.

The parade is organised through The Heath GAA Health and Wellbeing committee, which have had a massive impact on the small rural community over the last few years.

Last year’s parade was a great success, even featuring on national television, and work is well underway to get everything organised for this year.

The parade will start at 8.45am sharp from the Heath GAA club grounds and proceed down the The Heath Church. Mass will follow after the parade.

Organisers are asking all floats, groups and organisations taking part in the parade to gather in the GAA community grounds at 8.15am sharp.

Everyone from The Heath and beyond are welcome to come out and support the parade in your Ireland and club colours and line the road to watch the parade.

Refreshments and music in church hall after mass and goodie bags for all the children.

This is a day for everyone to get involved and take part.

There will also be a surprise St Patrick as well as two special marshals from the community.

The competition for best float has been kindly sponsored by Keyes Transport.
