18 clubs, including one from Kildare, represented as Laois U-20 footballers confirm 37-player panel for 2025 season

18 clubs are represented from across the county as manager Kieran Kelly has named the Laois U-20 football panel for 2025 has been named.

St Joseph’s lead the way in terms of numbers as they have five players on the squad.

Stradbally Parish Gaels won the U-20 championship in 2024 and nine players from that team are selected.

Stradbally and Annanough both provide four while Pauric Ramsbottom is Timahoe’s representative.

Portlaoise and Ballylinan contribute three players each while Courtwood, Killeshin, Kilcavan and The Heath have two each.

Players from Mountmellick. Arles-Killeen, Ballyroan-Abbey, The Rock, Clonaslee-St Manman’s, Portarlington, O’Dempsey’s and Crettyard make up the remainder of the squad.

Interesting, a player from a club in Kildare has also been named on the panel.

Sam Ryan from Sallins qualifies to play for the O’Moore county as his dad Pat is a proud Laois man.

Laois have been drawn in Group 3 of the Leinster championship and will begin at home to Kildare on March 26.

They host Wexford on April 2 and then conclude away to Carlow on April 9.

In order to progress from the group, Laois must finish first or second.

Top spot will send them into the semi finals and second will secure a quarter final spot away to the winner of Group 1 – either Dublin, Meath, Offaly or Westmeath.
