John Kennedy
Boleybeg, Spink, Abbeyleix, Laois
John died at The Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. He is predeceased by his wife Mary and son Jimmy. He lived for many years in Manchester. Sadly missed by his sons John, Gee, Edward and Paul, daughter Jacqueline, brother in law Thomas and his wife Helen, daughters in law, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
Reposing at his residence in Boleybeg, Spink from 1 oc on Friday with Prayers at 7 oc. Funeral Mass on Saturday in St.Brigid’s Church, Ballinakill at 12 oc followed by burial in St.Brigid’s Cemetery.
Aaron Hussain
Kilminchy, Portlaoise, Laois
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son Aaron Hussain, aged 5 who tragically left us on the 22nd February 2025. Cherished son on Tauqir Hussain and Irina Novikova and loving brother to Adam. Aaron was a bright and loving child who brought joy to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his heartbroken Parents, brother, extended family, friends, his classmates at Educate Together and the wider Portlaoise Community.
Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home on Thursday February 27th from 11am. Removal at 1pm to SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise arriving at 1:30pm for interment prayers and burial.
Patrick (Paddy) Mulhall
Crannagh, Stradbally, Laois
The death has occurred of Patrick, better known as Paddy Mulhall, Crannagh, Stradbally, Co. Laois, unexpectedly following a tragic road accident on the 23rd February 2025. Predeceased by his parents and brother-in-law Barney.
Paddy will be sadly missed and forever loved by his family, sisters Mary and Elizabeth, nieces Levi and Tara, nephews John, Liam, Colm, Richard, Anthony and Adam, grandniece Cadhla, grandnephew Liam and a large circle of friends and neighbours.
Reposing at the Presentation Chapel, Stradbally on Wednesday and Thursday from 2pm until 8pm. Recital of the Rosary on Thursday at 8pm. Removal from the Presentation Chapel, Stradbally on Friday morning to arrive at St Joseph’s Church, Ballyadams for Requiem Mass at 11am. Interment to follow in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Ballyadams.
Bridie O’Rourke (née Dillon)
Lusk, Dublin/Durrow, Laois
O’Rourke (Nee Dillon) Bridie, late of Lusk and formerly of Durrow, Co. Laois, February 23rd 2025, peacefully at Beaumont Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Will be sadly missed by her beloved husband and best friend Joe, adoring children David, Yvonne, Deirdre and reunited with her beautiful baby Michelle. Predeceased by her sisters Maureen and Patricia and her brother William. Very deeply regretted by her brothers Martin and Paul, her daughter-in-law Janice, sons-in-law John and Morgan, beloved grandchildren Ciara, Cathal, Caoimhe, Odhrán, Dáire, Conor, Dillon and Rían, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, friends and neighbours.
Reposing at her daughter Deirdre’s home on Wednesday 26th February 2025 from 5pm – 8pm Caulderwood, Quickpenny Road, Lusk, Co. Dublin (K45F685). Tuesday Family Only. Funeral mass Thursday 27th February at 11:00 am in St MacCullins Church, Lusk, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only.
Marie McCraith (née Daly)

Marie McCraith (née Daly), 2 The Limekiln, Clough, Co. Laois and formerly Conoboro Rd. Rathdowney and Foxcroft St., Portarlington Co. Laois February 22nd. 2025, peacefully in the presence of her family at the Midland’s Regional Hospital Portlaoise.
Predeceased by her husband Joseph, parents James and Elizabeth sisters Betty(Cox) and Betty (Ryan), brother Jim and nephew Martin.
Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Olga, Declan and Ronan, brother Podge, sister Kathleen, son-in-law Canice, daughters-in-law Mary and Tina, her great friend Mary, grandchildren Kate, Shane, Ciaràn, Ruth, Thomas, Adam, Sophie, and Isabella, great-grandchildren Sadie and Nell, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing at her daughter Olga’s residence, Clough (Eircode R32 KX70) on Tuesday February 25th, from 3 o’clock pausing for prayers at 8 o’clock . Removal on Wednesday, to St. Canice’s Church, Clough, arriving for Requiem Mass at 12.30. Interment afterwards in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
