Maher (née O’Brien), Betty (The Donahies, Dublin 13 and late of Rathdowney, Co. Laois), January 16th, 2025, unexpectedly at home, after a short illness bravely borne. Beloved wife of Seán and much loved mother to Mary, Pat, Deirdre, Denise, Seán, Sandra and Karen. Sadly missed by her heartbroken family, her beloved grandchildren Niamh, Seán, David, James, Hannah, Jack, Thomas, Leah, Cian, Aaron, Sophia and Alex, brothers Martin, Seán and Jackie, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, friends and wonderful neighbours in Dublin and Rathdowney.

Formerly of Clonroosk, Clonbullogue County Offaly. Died on Thursday 16th January unexpectedly at his residence. Predeceased by his partner Helen, his parents Joseph and Mary, sisters Margaret (Joyce), Annie (Cosgrove), Marie, brothers Joseph and Peter and nephew Sean Paul Byrne. Michael is sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends including those who cared for Michael.
The family would like to thank you for your help and understanding at this sad and difficult time.

Áine Mary Kainz passed away on 14th January 2025 in Vienna surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Margaret (Walsh) and her sisters Sheila, Máiréad, Maire and Deirdre. Áine is deeply loved and missed by her husband Wolfgang, her daughters Marie-Theres and Stephanie, her son Patrick, her son-in-law Angelo, her daughter-in-law Monika, her grandchildren Hana, Filip, Anna-Sophie and Lena, relatives, extended family and friends.

Anne (Josie) Kilgannon (née Murray)

Anne (Josie) Kilgannon, (Née Murray), St. Helen’s, Liverpool, UK, & formerly of Bellair, Clonaslee, Co. Laois.
Passed away peacefully on the 1st of January 2025 at her residence.
Predeceased by her parents Timothy & Margaret Murray & her sister Eilish Proctor.
Josie will be very sadly missed by her devoted husband Tommy, her beloved daughter Mairéad, & her loving son-in-law Mark, her cherished grandchildren Aoife & Ruairí, & her brother Seamus. Deeply regretted by her sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends in Liverpool and Ireland.
Her Remains will arrive to St Manman’s Church, Clonaslee, on Monday the 20th of January for 6pm Funeral prayers.
Funeral Mass on Tuesday the 21st of January at 1pm in St Manman’s Church, Clonaslee, followed by burial afterwards to St Manman’s Cemetery, Clonaslee.

Kathleen Dunne (née Leavy)
Rosecourt, Portarlington, Laois
Peacefully surrounded by her loving family while in the excellent care of the staff of St Brigid’s Hospital Shaen and previously in the wonderful care of the staff of the Slieve Bloom Ward at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by her loving husband James (Seamus), adoring grandson Stefan (recently deceased), and dear infant son Donal. Deeply regretted by her loving family David, Christine, James and Brendan, daughter-in-law, and their partners, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest Portarlington (eircode R32 X5XV) on Sunday evening from 5pm with Rosary at 7pm. Removal on Monday morning at 9:10am (travelling via Crow Lane and Rosecourt) arriving St Michael’s Church Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery Portarlington.

Olive Cotter (née Graham)
Blackrock, Dublin/Laois
Cotter, Olive (née Graham), 16th January 2025, (Blackrock and formerly of County Laois). Peacefully at St. Vincent’s University Hospital. Beloved wife of Ronnie for 60 years and loving mum of Sandra and Karen. Adored Nana to Lena, Bryn and Solomon and mother-in-law to Paddy. Sister to the late dear Ethel and Violet and sister-in-law to Olive, Cecil and Marylin. Sadly, will be missed by her loving family, nephews and niece – Brian, Susan, Mark, David, and Simon – as well as extended family, friends, and neighbours.
Reposing at Kill O’ the Grange church Sunday, 19th January, from 4.30-6.00 pm.
Funeral service at Kill O’ the Grange church Monday 20th January at 10.30 am, followed by tea and coffee in the parish hall.
Afterwards, the family will pass by the family home with Olive continuing to a private service at Mount Jerome.

Pat Murray, Ironhills, Suncroft, The Curragh, Co. Kildare. Formerly Ballyadams, Co. Laois. Peacefully, 16th January 2025, in the wonderful care of the staff at Naas Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Sadly missed by his loving wife Carmel, son Paddy, daughters Karen and Denise, sons in law Mikey and Neil, granddaughter Kaileigh, step grandsons Callum and Kael, brother Tom, sisters Kathleen and Margaret, brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, friends and his beloved dog Missy.
Reposing at McWeys Funeral Home, Abbeyview, Kildare Town from 4pm on Sunday (19th January) concluding with rosary at 6pm. Removal by Glennons Funeral Directors on Monday morning to arrive at St. Brigid’s Church, Suncroft, for requiem mass at 10am. Burial afterwards in Holy Cross Cemetery, Suncroft.
Pat’s funeral mass will be broadcast on 108FM.
Joan Sheehan
Blackrock, Dublin/Abbeyleix, Laois
Joan passed (peacefully) in the wonderful care of the staff at St Vincent’s University Hospital, Elm Park, Dublin. Predeceased by her brothers Fr. Joe and Seán (Jack) and sisters Maura, Fran and Kitty.
Very sadly missed by her loving family, her sister-in-law Ann, brother-in-law Paddy, nieces, Maria, Sheona, Clodagh and Cróna and her nephews, Bill, Cormac, Emmet and Rory, and extended family, friends and neighbours.
Removal on Monday morning (20th January) to the Church of the Assumption, Booterstown arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am (which can be viewed here https://www.churchservices.tv/booterstown) followed by burial at Kilternan Cemetery Park.
