2024 Remembered: Big Laois involvement as North London Shamrocks make history with first ever championship win

History was made in London in October as North London Shamrocks claimed London SFC glory for the first time ever.

They defeated St Kiernan’s in the final to claim success by 1-11 to 1-8.

It was a historic day and there was big Laois involvement with two players on the pitch.

Former Laois and Portlaoise goalkeeper Graham Brody was between the sticks.

He played a crucial part with a stunning one-on-one save from Conor O’Donoghue which kept Shamrocks ahead in the first half.

While Ballyroan-Abbey’s Adam Dunne, a former Laois minor and U-20 player, was at wing back and put in heroic performance.

There was more Ballyroan-Abbey involvement too with Scott Conroy a member of the panel.

While John Madigan, who captained Ballyroan Gaels to win the Laois championship in 2006, is heavily involved in the club.
