Laois TD announces funds for Laois based water schemes under multi-annual rural water programme

€271,296 in funding has been allocated to three places in Laois for the Multi-annual Rural Water Programme.

The Heath, Cullohill and Errill group water schemes will all be benefited from the funding.

€97,527 will be allocated for works on The Heath Group Water Scheme.

€92,619 will be allocated for works on Cullohill Group Water Scheme.

And €81,150 will be allocated for works on Errill Group Water Scheme.

Welcoming the news, Fianna Fail TD Sean Fleming said that those in rural areas will benefit the most.

He said: “This Government funding will enable Group Water Schemes to continue to improve the quality, quantity and reliability of the water services in rural areas.

“Fianna Fáil is committed to enhancing the wellbeing and quality of life of people living in Laois and rural Ireland.

“Having access to reliable and safe drinking water is critically important for local people in the countryside.

“The funding allocated today is an example of Fianna Fáil’s ongoing investment and commitment to the future development of rural Ireland.

“I want to ensure that our rural communities have the benefit of high quality infrastructure and water services.

“I have no doubt that the investment announced today will help improve these water services which will continue to support and encourage people to live and work locally in rural Ireland.”
