A Laois located folk-punk band known as The Outcast Crew are set to perform in Kavanagh’s bar & venue, Portlaoise, on Friday, November 15.
The band are set to bring their high-energy performance to the town at Hometown show.
The Outcast Crew is comprised of Brian O’Mahoney (Vocals/Guitar); Paul Flynn (Drums); Damien O’Meara (Accordion); John Davidson (Fiddle); Niall Harney (Bass) and David Harte (Banjo).
This hometown gig marks a warm-up for the band’s upcoming tour to Germany in March 2025, where they’ll play 22 dates across major cities including Berlin, Hamburg, Dresden, Frankfurt, and Munich.
Joining them on tour are fellow Laois band Cua and traditional Irish band Realta, creating a powerful line up of Irish talent for German audiences.
The Outcast Crew recently released their latest album earlier this year, Rovin’ Again, under Warner Chappell Music’s label Elbroar. The album was named Album of the Month by Canadian music blog The Mighty Decibel.
Their single “Runaway” has received high praise from Melodymine, which described it as an “anthem of escapism, freedom, and adventure,” combining “intensifying punk and euphonic folk” to create a sound that brings “pure adrenaline rush balanced with a magnetic and warm emotional tone.”
While most of the band members are based in Laois, accordion player Damien O’Meara brings an additional touch of experience, hailing from Dingle, Co. Kerry. Damien, formerly a member of the Celtic punk band Flogging Molly, joined them on several major U.S. tours.
