Elizabeth Srahan (née Carroll)
Meelick, Portlaoise, Laois

Elizabeth (Betty) Srahan, Meelick, Portlaoise. 10th October 2024. Peacefully died surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Joe and son Tom. Dearly loved mother to Marian, Lucia and Paul. Cherished grandmother to Kelan, Liz, Liam, Deirdra, Charlotte and Katie. And Great grandmother to Alice, Finn, Amelia, Hunter and Eleanor. Deeply regretted by her loving family. Sister, Lucy O`Hare. Sisters in law Nancy, Dolly, and Eileen. Son in law Eoin. Nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. And former colleagues in St Fintan’s Hospital.

Reposing at Keegans funeral home on Friday evening from 6.30 pm until 8 pm, with rosary at 7.30 pm . Removal on Saturday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 2.30 pm Requiem Mass. Interment in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery immediately afterwards. House Private please.

James McKenna
Foxcroft Avenue, Portarlington, Laois/Lixnaw, Kerry

Formerly of Lixnaw County Kerry and Irish Defence Forces. James died in his 93rd year in the wonderful care of the staff of Oakdale Nursing Home Portarlington. Loving husband of the late Kathleen (recently deceased). Deeply regretted by his loving children Niall and Aideen, daughter-in-law Angela, son-in-law Liam, his beloved grandchildren Kate and Colm, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Removal from his residence on Saturday morning at 10:15am (travelling via Foxcroft Street) arriving St Michael’s Church Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery Portarlington.

John Brendan Shiels
Fieldbrook, Portlaoise, Laois, R32N97W

John Brendan Sheils, Fielbrook, Dublin Road, Portlaoise. Died 8th October, 2024, peacefully at Portlaoise Regional Hospital. Son of the late Catherine and Thomas Shiels. Predeceased by his sisters Phyllis and Kathleen and brother-in-laws Christy and Patsy. Deeply regretted by his many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-niece, relatives, neighbours and former colleagues in Glanbia.

Reposing at his nieces residence at Aghnaharna (Postcode R32N67W) on Thursday evening from 6pm to 8 pm and Rosary on Friday at 8pm. Removal on Saturday to arrive at SS Peter and Pauls Church for 12 noon Mass. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Pauls cemetery.

Mark Locker
Stonehall, Newport, Tipperary/Limerick /Laois

Mark Locker (Stonehall, Newport, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Swansea, Wales. Late of Aggreko Ireland, Portlaoise). October 8th 2024, peacefully at Milford Care Centre.

Beloved husband of Michelle. Dearly loved father of Olivia. He will be very sadly missed by his loving father-in-law Clement, cousins Wayne and his wife Jill and her son’s Dai and Nick, aunt Joanie and her son Stephen, and their families, sisters-in-law Elizabeth and Kathryn, brothers in-law Tom (Laffan) and Tom (Frawley) nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street on Saturday (12th October) from 11.30am to 1.30pm followed by Funeral Service in Shannon Crematorium at 3pm. Mark’s Funeral Service will be live-streamed here Password: TR37
