WATCH: Holy Family Senior School throw their support by Portlaoise seniors and minors this weekend

Holy Family Senior School support Portlaoise

We are 24 hours away from the 2024 Laois Shopping Centre Senior football championship final and excitement is building.

We took a trip to Portlaoise yesterday where the younger members were decked out in the colours.

Holy Family Senior School welcomed us in and green and white was plastered everywhere.

There is a huge connection between the school and the two Portlaoise teams who will compete on Sunday.

The Laois minor football championship final throws in at 2pm and is just like the senior – it features Portlaoise and Portarlington.

Brian Dunne, a teacher in the school, is the manager of the minor team while a host of the players are past pupils.

Fergal Naughton, Robbie Brophy, David Whelan, Ben O’Connor, Conor O’Callaghan, Darren Brennan, Jamie Gorman, Josh Finn, Shane Walsh, David Reddin, Mark O’Connor, Shane O’Sullivan, Charlie O’Dwyer, Sean Powders, Davy Delaney, Danny Rooney, Ryan Morrin, Eoin Carey, Danny Gavin, Tiernan Lawless and Ryan Haslam are all former students.

While teacher Tommy Mulligan is part of the management team for the seniors who face Portarlington at 4pm.

The students also contributed to a video wishing both teams the best of luck.
