There were smiles all around this morning as Laois students were among the thousands who received their Junior Cert results.
In Portlaoise CBS, it was a real twin affair with three sets of them opening their envelopes this morning.
The Dunne twins, Conor and Ross, the Byrne twins, Luke and Evan, and another set of Dunne twins, Luke and Jack, all received results.
A special mention must also go to David Wajrak who received 7 Distinctions and is pictured with Principal, Ms Maura Murphy.
While Max Gibney received five Distinctions is pictured below in a group photo with his peers.
A spokesperson for the school congratulated all on their exams.
They said: “We are so proud of our students who did fantastic in their exams.
“We had some excellent results with some students receiving 5/6/7 Distinctions, combined with many many Higher Merits across the board.
“But no matter the grade, we know that our students did their very best and exceeded our expectations.
“Once again, a huge congratulations to all of our pupils on their outstanding results, enjoy the celebrations!”
Portlaoise College was also celebrating the achievements of its students following the release of this year’s Junior Cert results.
The results reflect the hard work of both students and staff, continuing the positive trend seen in the school’s recent Leaving Cert results.
Principal Noel Daly commended the students for their dedication and commitment.
He said: “These results are a testament to the effort put in by our students and the ongoing support they receive from both their teachers and families.
“We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and look forward to seeing their future success as they enter senior cycle.”
In speaking with the students ahead of opening their results, Mr Daly also stressed the important role their parents or guardians made in supporting the students through the three years of the Junior Cert.
Special thanks were extended to Ms Bergin, the students’ year head, for her guidance throughout their time in junior cycle.
The school and students also expressed gratitude to the team of tutors, including Mr Dunne, Ms Lawlor, Mr Knowles, Mr Carroll, Ms Tooher, and Ms O’Shea, for their consistent support and encouragement to the students over the three years.
Meanwhile, 78 students received their 2024 Junior Cycle results today in Knockbeg.
The results were of the highest standard and represent 3 strong years of dedication and hard work by students and staff.
Over 70 parents attended to celebrate this important milestone.
Principal John Maye reminded students of the importance of this milestone in their education and personal lives.
He also spoke about the importance of experiencing the state exam system and the importance of reflecting on your individual results.
