Marie Hogan (née Higgins)

Marie Hogan (nee Higgins), Stillbrook, Mountrath and formerly of Coolrain and Cedar Inn Mountrath. October 7th, 2024. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

Daughter of the late Ben and Bridget Higgins.

Predeceased by her husband Noel, brothers Padraig and Sean, sisters Rita, Lila and Annette.

Deeply regretted by her son Kevin, granddaughters Séana, Keara and Katie, her 11 grandchildren, sister Bernadette (Hertford), sisters in law, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Guilfoyle’s Funeral Home, Castletown (Eircode R32 TH84) this Tuesday evening (Oct. 8th.) from 6 pm. until 8.30 pm. pausing for prayers at 7 pm. Marie’s Funeral Mass this Wednesday evening (Oct. 9th.) at 3 pm in St. Fergal’s Church, Camross followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

John Doheny
Portlaoise Road, Mountrath, Laois

John passed away peacefully on the 5th October 2024, surrounded by his loving family, and in the care of staff at Tallaght Hospital Dublin.

Beloved husband of Margaret, and dear father to David, Paul and Carol. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family, brothers, sisters, daughter-in-law Karen, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family, relatives, kind neighbours, and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath on Monday evening (October 7th) from 6.0’clock, concluding with Rosary at 9.0’clock. Removal on Tuesday morning (October 8th) to St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath (eircode R32EC61), for Requiem Mass at 10.0’clock, followed by burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery Mountrath.

Bosco Bartley
Well Road, Portlaoise, Laois

Bosco Bartley, Well rd Portlaoise Co.Laois. Died October 6th 2024 peacefully after a brief illness. Predeceased by his parents John and Mary and brother Ollie. Deeply regretted by his loving sisters Frances, Josie and Pauline and brother PJ. Sister in law Theresa, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Keegan’s funeral home portlaoise on Tuesday from 6:30pm till 8pm with rosary at 7:30pm. Funeral mass on Wednesday at 12 noon in SS Peter and Paul’s church followed by interment in SS Peter and Paul’s cemetery.

Marie Keenan (née Byron)
Main Street, Stradbally, Laois/Ballyphehane, Cork

The death has occurred of Marie Keenan (née Byron), Main Street, Stradbally, Co. Laois and formerly Ballyphehane, Cork, peacefully on 5th October 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Predeceased by her parents, Nora and James, her beloved husband Larry and her brother Michael.

Sadly missed by her daughters Katherine and Audrey, grandchildren Emma, David, James, Sean, Anna, Alison, Barry, Lucy and Oisin, great-grandson Tommy and her son Larry, sisters, brothers, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, sons-in-law Tom and Murt, daughter-in-law Michelle, extended family, her very kind neighbours and her many friends.

Marie will repose at the family home, Main Street, on Monday 7th October from 2pm with Rosary at 7:30pm. Requiem Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally at 11am on Tuesday 8th October followed by Interment in Oakvale Cemetery.

Teresa Shiels  28 Beladd and formerly Dr Murphys Place Portlaoise. October 4th 2024. Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of the late Paddy and Jane Shiels. Predeceased by her sister Ciss Mills.

Dearly loved sister to Nancy O’Gorman. Deeply regretted by her brothers Billy and Pat. Brother in law Séan. Nephews, nieces. Grandnephews, grandnieces. Relatives, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace. Reposing at her residence at Beladd on Sunday from 4pm until 7pm.

Removal on Monday morning to arrive at SS Peter and Pauls Church for 2pm. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Pauls cemetery. Family flowers only, donation if desired to the Friends of Portlaoise Hospital. House private on Monday morning.

Robert Roe
Cullagh, Rathcabbin, Roscrea, Tipperary/Rathdowney, Laois

Robert Roe, Cullagh, Rathcabbin, Roscrea, Co Tipperary and formerly Gortnalee, Rathdowney, Co. Laois, October 4th. 2024 peacefully at Ballinasloe Hospital.

Predeceased by his parents John and Gladys and brother Harry. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family, his loving partner Mary, extended family and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at O’Sullivan’s funeral home Rathdowney (Eircode R32 NY24) on Monday morning from 11 o’clock with removal to St. Andrew’s Church of Ireland church Rathdowney arriving for funeral service at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in The Local Cemetery, Rathdowney.

Margaret Noonan (née Conroy)
19 Clonmullion Retirement Village, Athy, Kildare/Mountrath, Laois

Margaret Noonan, (nee Conroy), 19 Clonmullion Retirement Village, Athy, Co. Kildare and late of Drim, Mountrath, Co. Laois, October 5th. 2024 (peacefully) at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise.

Predeceased by her husband Edward, sisters Mai and Lil.

Will be dearly missed by her daughter Karen, son in law Danny, grandson Conor, brothers Jimmy, Jack and Fint, sisters Kathleen and Marion, sisters in law Breda and Pam, brother in law Mick, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Margaret’s Funeral Mass on Monday morning (Oct. 7th.) at 11 o’c in St. Edmund’s Church Castletown with burial immediately afterwards in St. Fintan’s cemetery Mountrath.

Judy (Julia) Keenan (née Graham)

Judy (Julia) Keenan, Née graham, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin, (late of Killanure, Co. Laois) 4th October 2024 in her 95th year, peacefully at Beaumont Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Wife of the late Joseph (Joe), daughter of the late Julia and Thomas. Sadly missed by her loving and devoted children Mary, Marian, Sheila, Josephine and John, adored grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, extended family and a large circle of friends and neighbours.

Reposing at her residence Sunday from 2pm to 8pm, removal Monday to S.S. Peter & Paul’s church Balbriggan arriving for 11am funeral mass, thereafter to S.S. Peter & Paul’s cemetery Balbriggan.

Brigid Holohan (nee Maher) Davin Park Mountmellick and formerly Patrick Street Mountrath died October 3rd 2024 at home in the company of her loving family.

Loving daughter of the late Michael and Alice Maher.

Deeply regretted by her husband Peter and her sons and daughters Paula, Kathleen, Tracy, Peter, Noelle, Andrew and Roisin, sons-in-law Martin, Roberto and Thomas, daughter-in-law Susanne, grandchildren Peter, Eleanor, Sarah, Rosa, Roberto, Cormac, Niamh, Fionn, Jamie and Michael, greatgrandchildren Kevin, Leah, David (Junior), Penny, Dillon, Ava, Evan, Fiadgh and Luca, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Removal from her home on Monday at 10.30am to St.Josephs Church arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial after in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Castletown Road, Mountrath, Laois/Borris-in-Ossory, Laois

Died October 5th, 2024, in The Residence, Portlaoise in the company of her Brigidine Sisters.

Loving daughter of the late Michael and Catherine Geoghegan, formerly of Borris-in-Ossory, predeceased by her parents and sisters, Lucy, Marie and Agnes Geoghegan.

Deeply regretted by her sister, Rena, nephews, Pat, Mike, Cathal and Oisin, grandnieces and grandnephew, Brigidine Sisters, relatives and friends.

Reposing in Brigidine Sisters Residence, Castletown Road, Mountrath on Sunday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Recital of the Rosary at 7.00 p.m.

Removal on Monday morning at 9.40 a.m. to St. Fintan’s Church, Mountrath, arriving for Requiem Mass at 10 a.m. Burial afterwards in the Convent Cemetery.
