Laois Garden World in Portlaoise are currently looking to recruit a full-time shop assistant.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- The chosen candidate will provide excellent customer service
- Assisting customers with their purchase and queries
- Maintaining a clean and organised shop/yard
- Yard duties include stock management, upkeep and forklift driving
- Process transactions using the cash register and credit card machine
- Show desire to learn all aspects of the trade
- Capable of working as part of a team or on own initiative
Requirements
- 2+ years retail experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Interest in timber products/hardware an advantage
- Forklift licence desirable but can be provided
- Basic maths and IT skills required
- Strong time management skills
Summary
The shop assistant will work in a retail environment, which will include standing for long periods of time. Lifting and carrying timber products and fuel will be part of your day. Saturday work will be included.
