Five Laois sports clubs eligible for funding to install EV charge points

Electric car charging

Five Laois sports clubs are eligible to apply for funding for electric vehicle charge points, under the Shared Island Sports Club EV Charging Scheme.

Park-Ratheniska GAA, Clonaslee-St Manman’s GAA, Annanough GAA, The Heritage Golf Club and The Heath Golf Club are eligible to apply for funding under this scheme to install these new charge points.

The news was confirmed recently by Minister for State at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Sean Fleming.

The Laois TD encouraged those eligible to complete the final stages of their application.

He said: “€15 million of Government funding has been set aside to support sports clubs to install electric vehicle charge points.

“I want to thank all the volunteers who submitted applications, and I am pleased to see a number of Laois applications continue to the next phase.

“Now, I would ask that these local Laois sports clubs complete the final stage of their applications for funding.

“This way, they can install these new charge points as quickly as possible for people who use their facilities and the local community.”
