Local designer Heidi Higgins was delighted that record marathon holder Paula Radcliffe wore one of her creations from her online connections for a public appearance in Dublin recently.
The renowned athlete wore a red ‘Paris’ dress from Heidi Higgins’ online City Look collection.
A photograph of her in the dress featured in an extensive interview with Radcliffe in the Sunday Independent over the weekend.
Ms Radcliffe wore the dress while in Dublin in her role as brand ambassador for Revive Action during a visit to The National Sports Campus in Dublin.
“We had it arranged through a PR company. We were delighted that she made that selection and that it was a style she liked,” said Heidi.
“She wanted to wear something from an Irish designer and I think I was recommended to her. She went online and looked at our collection, and liked what she saw.
“She selected a couple of dresses and then went with the red ‘Paris’ dress. That is part of our new collection and we were delighted she went with that,” Heidi said.
“It is really lovely dressing people like her,” Heidi said.
Exceptional
“She is quite an exceptional lady. Even runners like to dress up,” she said.
These are busy times for the Portlaoise-based designer as she prepares for a pop-up shop for her latest work in Cork in the coming days.
