Laois company raises staggering sum following charity cycle through Spain for Down Syndrome Centre Midlands

A Laois company has completed a charity cycle for the Down Syndrome Centre Midlands and raised a staggering amount of money.

PowerPoint Engineering, based in Kea-Lew Business Park, Portlaoise are undertook a four-day cycle last week.

The Portlaoise company were represented on the cycle by Conor McGarry, Johan Erasmus, David Phelan and Gavin Deering.

The team took on the incredible challenge of cycling 543km through Spain, from Santander to Santiago de Compostela.

A total of €35,000 has been raised thanks to numerous generous donations.

David Phelan said: “It’s been an incredible journey, all in support of the Down Syndrome Centre Midlands.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported and followed us along the way.

“Big thank you to everyone who helped us reach our target of €35,000 for Down Syndrome Centre Midlands.

“The children and families of this fantastic organisation hosted a lovely celebration for us.”
