In Pictures: One student receives 625 as Scoil Chriost Ri students celebrate amazing Leaving Cert results

The 2024 Leaving Cert results were announced this morning and Laois students across the various schools have received them.

There were brilliant results in Scoil Chriost Ri where one student achieved the maximum of 625.

Sarah Daly from Portlaoise achieved the outstanding score and she will go on to study General Science in UCD.

Scoil Chriost Ri had 26 students achieve over 500 points which represents more than one in every five students who sat the exams last June.

Scoil Chriost Ri also had two Leaving Cert Applied Students reach the maximum Distinction – Erin Carroll O’Reilly and Love Joy Mkandawire.

Principal Sean Smyth said: “I had the great privilege today to meet the Leaving Certificate Class from 2024 as they arrived to Scoil Chríost Rí to receive their results.

“The corridors were bustling with life and joy as at the same time we were welcoming in our First Years on the complete opposite end of their journey in our fantastic school.

“Although I was not here for the journey of our Leaving Certificate graduates, it filled me with immense pride to see the well-rounded and successful young women that are produced here during their time with us in Scoil Chríost Rí.

“A massive congratulations to all students. Their results were truly superb.

“A special congratulations to Sarah Daly who received maximum points. I spoke to Sarah today and asked her what her secret was.

“She said she worked hard, consistently presented her work and most importantly she set boundaries for herself, to spend time with her friends and spend time on her passions, playing traditional music and competing in the fleadh.

“We were so proud of our equally amazing Leaving Certificate Applied Class, with two of our students, Erin Carroll O’Reilly and Love Joy Mkandawire achieving the maximum Distinction and many more students achieving merits.

“A special thank you and congratulations to all their hard-working teachers and Year Head, Ms Julie Guinan and Leaving Certificate Applied coordinator, Ms Breda Butler.”
