Laois band The Finns get American tour underway

Laois band The Finns – comprised of Rathdowney brothers Hugh and Ciaran – have brought their original folk music to America this month where they are touring and appearing at some iconic venues and two huge Irish-American festivals.

Their tour starts off at the weekend in Keanes, The Bronx,  New York, and Josie Kelly’s in Somers Point, New Jersey. It was the first time The Finns to play both these establishments.

The brothers then play at one of the most iconic venues in the US, New York’s oldest rock club The Bitter End.

Against the stage backdrop of the classic red brick and intimate vibes, The Bitter End has hosted some of the biggest names in the history of music including Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Lady Gaga, Neil Diamond and John Denver.

Now they can add The Finns to that list!!!

From New York they go north to Boston where they have visited many times before but this tour brings them to play Boston’s legendary venue The Burren Backroom Series for the first time.

It’s located in Somerville MA, a venue that has hosted the very best in Irish folk music over 30 years.

After Boston, they fly to the MidWest to play at two huge Irish American festivals, Irish Fest La Crosse and Milwaukee Irish Fest, both in Wisconsin.

These festivals will host the biggest names in Irish music at present and The Finns will represent Ireland and Laois and will entertain thousands during their visit.

The Finns are supported by Culture Ireland to showcase Irish music at the very highest level in the USA.
