Transport Planner

We now have an opening for a Transport Planner to join our busy Logistics Division.

As a Transport Planner, you will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient management of transportation operations within our company.

Reporting directly to the Group Transport Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating various administrative tasks related to transportation, ensuring compliance with regulations, and facilitating smooth communication between internal departments and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Administrative Support:
  • Assist in the coordination of daily transportation activities, including scheduling, routing and dispatching
  • Maintain accurate records of transportation transactions, including deliveries, pickups and driver logs
  • Prepare and process relevant shipping documentation
2. Communication and Coordination:
  • Liaise with drivers, suppliers and customers to ensure timely and accurate delivery and pickup of product
  • Serve as a point of contact for inquiries, concerns and issues related to transportation operations
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as production and logistics, to optimise transportation efficiency and address any logistical challenges

3. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay updated on transportation regulations, licences and permits relevant to the industry.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, including those related to vehicle maintenance and driver qualifications.
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports and documentation as required
4. Data Management
  • Maintain transportation databases and systems to track inventory, shipments, and other relevant information.
  • Analyse transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Generate regular reports and summaries to support decision-making processes and operational planning.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Primary Qualification in Business, Logistics or Sales related discipline desirable.
  • Previous experience in transportation administration or logistics coordination preferred.
  • Excellent excel skills is essential.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the transportation industry
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs.

Production Supervisor

Production Supervisor based on our Client’s site in Dublin while reporting to CJ Sheeran.

We are seeking a dynamic and organised working Production Supervisor to join our team.

This role will be based on our client’s site, and you will be the main point of contact for our client while being responsible for managing the client relationship, assessing and forecasting product needs, communicating with the main office, while supervising a small team.

Meeting team members daily in Mountrath, Co. Laois and travelling together to client site in Ballymount, Dublin.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 05:30 – 14:30; subject to change with as much notice as possible of any change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for the client, maintaining regular communication to build and nurture a strong working relationship.
  • Evaluate weekly forecasts for upcoming product requirements and communicate these forecasts to the Production Manager to ensure a timely and efficient production process.
  • Coordinate with the production team to manage client demands and fluctuations, ensuring all changes are effectively communicated and managed.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient workflow and high productivity levels.
  • Supervise a team of up to eight, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure team objectives are met.
  • Check stock levels regularly and manage consumables to ensure there are no shortages that could impact client satisfaction.
  • Liaise with clients regarding any issues, working proactively to resolve concerns and maintain a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Assist with Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure all orders and invoices are closed out effectively and efficiently.
  • Maintain clear and concise communication with the main office, clients, and team members to ensure alignment and effective operation.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role
  • Full clean B driving licence.
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor and develop employees.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
  • Must have a can-do attitude along with being a self-starter

Desirable:

  • Manual handling certificate
  • Abrasive wheel certificate
  • MEWP certificate
  • Working at heights certificate

Salary commensurate with experience.


Graduate Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer

We are currently undergoing exceptional growth and now have an opening for a Graduate Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer to cover the CJ Sheeran Group.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Engineering Manager with various capital projects across the group.
  • Assisting with the tendering, procurement, installation and commissioning of large plant for various projects.
  • Liaising with sub-contractors on project progress and support during the install phases.
  • Reporting on project progress to the Engineering Manager.
  • Developing and updating plant asset registers.
  • Supporting the maintenance department re preventative maintenance schedules and progress against same.
  • Assisting with the compilation of KPI information on a daily basis re the manufacturing processes within each work area.
  • KPI reporting on manufacturing stats and performance.
  • Be safety conscious and support driving our safety culture across every aspect of our business.
  • • Update CAD layouts as new installs are completed

Skills and Experience:

  • Level 8 degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/electrical engineering obtained within the last four years.
  • Prior internship or experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office and AutoCad.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
