In 2023, the society became the first event in Ireland to use a carbon-neutral biofuel, crafted and supplied by Arigna Fuels, for their steam engines.
This innovative approach sets an example for other events, balancing heritage preservation with environmental protection.

Funds raised from the event benefit local charities such as Laois Hospice, Stradbally Meals on Wheels, and Aoibheann’s Pink Tie, a charity supporting families of seriously ill children.

The excitement begins with a Street Party starting at 5 PM and Steam & Vintage Parade at 7:15 PM on Saturday, August 3rd.
Featuring Corvenieos Entertainment, this lively kickoff will include steam engines, vintage vehicles, and plenty of fun, setting the stage for the landmark main event.
