A Laois referee is set to be the man in the middle at an All-Ireland final in Croke Park this weekend.
The All-Ireland U-20 ‘B’ Hurling Championship final will be contested by Down and Roscommon.
Throw in at Croke Park is 3pm on Saturday and Laois referee Padraig Dunne will have the whistle.
Indeed it will be an all-Colt affair as his umpires are set to be Enda Mulhall, Sean Murphy, Robbie Moffit and Nathan Dunne.
Dunne began refereeing career at club level in 2018 and has officiated the county final in Laois as recently as 2023.
Back in the same year, Dunne was selected from Leinster to travel to the UAE to officiate in the Middle East Games.
He was part of a team of five that travelled out, two Leinster referees and three from Munster.
Dunne’s stock continued to rise and this year, he was appointed to the national referee’s panel.
That allowed him to officiate at inter-county level and after impressing again, he now gets to officiate in GAA HQ.
