Rathdowney-Errill hosted their eighth annual ‘Rathdowney Pharmacy’ golf classic in Rathdowney Golf Club.
Since its inaugural year it has been a huge success with both members of the community and players of Rathdowney-Errill Gaa.
The event was hosted in Rathdowney Golf Club and benefited from the selfless help of numerous volunteers.
The winners on the day were former Camross stalwarts, Fint Scully, Richie Moloney, Gerry Kavanagh and Seamus Kennedy while Mattie Walsh, David Ryan, Joe Costello and Finbar Kelly had to settle for second place.
Finally, John Fahy, Brendan Foyle, Cathal O’Donnell and Jimmy Fitzpatrick took the bronze medal.
The event accommodated all ability groups with category two and three competitions. Category two was won by Damien and Martin Bowe, Paul Ward while Patrick Treacy Dave McKelvey, Emmett Ryan, Mark O’ Loughlin and Adrian Hickey claimed the category three crown.
Juvenile competitions were also held where Rory Standish, Conor Hickey, Sean Ryan and Cillian Stenson beat all comers.
Other events were also held such as the long drive which was won by Kevin Galvin in the men’s and Elaine Dowling claimed the ladies while Rory Standish won the closest to the pin competition.
The event was kindly supported by ‘Rathdowney Pharmacy’, Paddy Purcell from the ‘Square Bar’, JF Home Improvements (John Fahy B.I.O.), Kevin Keane, Glanbia, Liz Dowling, Ray Kelly, Dunnes Stores, Dawn Meats and John O’Malley.
