Hollymount House Stud, Hollymount, Carlow, R93 E208/Laois
Sean Connolly of Hollymount House Stud, Hollymount, Carlow and formerly of Old Leighlin and Oxford, England, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on May 16th, 2024, at his home.
Beloved husband of the late Kathleen, much loved father of Maureen, Siobhán, Kathleen and John and adored grandfather of Jordan, Amy, Freya, Anthony, Rían, Sadhbh, Fallon, Anna, Tom and Grace.
He will be sadly missed by his loving son and daughters, grandchildren, daughter-in-law, sons-in-laws, brothers, sister, brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.
Reposing at his home Hollymount House Stud, Hollymount, Carlow (Eircode R93 E208) from 2pm on Friday, May 17th, concluding with Prayers at 8pm that evening. Removal on Saturday at 10.30am to St. Abban’s Church, Killeen, Co. Laois (Eircode R93 HK58) arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Pat Walsh
Portlaoise, Laois/Headford, Galway
The death has occurred of Patrick Joseph Walsh, Beechfield, Portlaoise and formerly of Dysart, Stradbally Road, Co. Laois and Ivy Cottage, Headford, Co. Galway, on May 16th, peacefully at Portlaoise Hospital, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Tess Walsh (née McBride), loving father of Nial (RIP), Fiona and Colum, fond grandfather of Fynn, Erika, Ashling and Freya.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children, his son-in-law Neil and daughter-in-law Maria, his sister Una, brothers Jim and Tom, as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and extended family. He will be greatly missed by neighbours, friends and many long-standing colleagues from An Garda Síochána.
Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home on Friday, 17th May, from 6.30pm to 8.00pm. Removal from there on Saturday, 18th May, to St. Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise for the funeral mass at 12 noon. There will be a private cremation next week. Family flowers only, please.
Martin Phelan
Clondalkin, Dublin/Ballyfin, Laois
Martin Phelan, Clondalkin, Dublin and Cavansheath, Ballyfin, Co. Laois, passed away peacefully, in the loving care of Tallaght General Hospital, on 14th May, 2024. Martin was predeceased by his loving wife, Joan (nee McDermott) and their infant daughter, his parents, Patrick and Frances and his brothers and sisters. Deeply regretted by his sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, neighbours, friends and the extended Phelan and McDermott families.
Reposing Moloneys Funeral Home, Mountmellick from 6pm this evening. Recital of the Rosary at 7.30pm. Reposing in Moloneys Funeral Home, Mountmellick on Friday morning from 10am until Removal at 11am to St .Fintan’s Church, Ballyfin for Requiem Mass at 11.30am. Burial after in St.Fintan’s Cemetery.
