Laois handballers Eamon Brennan and Brian Brennan claim Leinster C title after defeating Offaly opposition in a thrilling contest.
A contest which was too close to call, needed an 11-02 tie breaker to separate the sides and send the Leinster title back to Laois.
Before reaching the final the talented duo of Darren Madden and Alan Guinan stood in their way.
The first game went the way of the St. Brigid, Monavea handballers on a 21-13 scoreline but in reality the game was a much closer affair than the scoreline suggested.
While the second game was a much more cagey affair, the Laois pair held their nerve, winning decisive aces to go through on a scoreline of 21-19.
This earned them a spot in the Leinster final where they would meet Offaly’s John Murphy and Jack Jones who knocked out fellow Laois team Conor Walsh and Padraic Walsh in their semi final.
The pair got out of the blocks quickly, displaying skill and composure and vaulting into a 21-9 lead.
However in the second game Offaly began to close in on the duo and gain control of the game and win the second set 21-16.
This put huge pressure on the Brennan’s, going into the tiebreaker with the run of play against them.
However the lads quickly found their groove, building up an interminable lead as they cruised to a 11-02 victory to deservedly capture the Leinster Junior C title on a 21-9, 16-21, 11-02 scoreline.
