Michael Dooley, Raheen, Donaghmore, via Rathdowney, Co. Laois, May 10th. 2024, peacefully at the Midland’s Regional Hospital, Portlaoise, surrounded by his loving family.
Predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and Michael and brother Tom.
Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his heartbroken wife Mary, adoring family Marishe, Rosalind, Tara, Rachael, Micheàl, Audrey and Elisheva, sons-in-law Nicky, Keith, James, Nick and Robert, daughter-in-law Gillian, grandchildren May, Beth, Tadhg Sèan, Tara, Thomàs, Anna and Nessa, brothers Paddy and Bill, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing at home (Eircode R32 R599) on Sunday evening from 4 o’clock pausing for prayers at 7 o’clock. Removal on Monday morning to the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Rathdowney arriving for Requiem mass at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in the Local Cemetery, Rathdowney.
Ian (Drez) Henderson
Coolock, Dublin/Portarlington, Laois
Henderson, Ian (Drez), –8th May 2024, (Portarlington, Co. Laois and formerly of Coolock), unexpectedly at his residence. Beloved partner of Maeve. Predeceased by his parents Caítin, John, Sandra’s partner Pierce. Sadly missed by his partner, brother Paul and sister Sandra, Paul’s partner Eve, nephews Baran and Devlin, extended family, friends and neighbours.
Reposing at Jennings Funeral Home, Oscar Traynor Rd, Coolock, on Monday afternoon, 13th May, from 2pm to 4pm. A Funeral Service will take place in Jennings Funeral Home, Oscar Traynor Road on Tuesday morning 14th May at 11am followed by burial in Fingal Cemetery.
Cathal Lalor
Dublin 16, Dublin/Laois
LALOR, Cathal, 8th May 2024, (Wedgewood, Dublin 16, formerly of Ratheniska, Co. Laois). Suddenly at home. Beloved son of the late Jack and Gretta Lalor, and brother of the late Jack.
Cathal will be forever loved and sadly missed by his sister Sheila, sister-in-law Mary, niece and nephews, grand-nieces, extended family relatives and friends especially those in the Irish Rambling Club.
Reposing at Massey Bros. Funeral Home, Templeogue Village, (D6W AC82) on Thursday afternoon from 3pm – 5pm. Removal on Friday morning to the Church of the Ascension of Our Lord, Balally, (D16 EO32) arriving for 9.30am Requiem Mass, burial thereafter in Ratheniska Cemetery, Co. Laois. Approximate time of arrival is 12.30pm.
Josephine (Joan) Shiel
Tentore, Ballacolla, Laois
Peacefully at her home. Predeceased by her husband Thomas. Deeply regretted by her sons Dan, John and Noel, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at her son Dan’s residence, Rathdowney Road, Ballacolla on Saturday from 4pm. to 9pm. with prayers at 8pm. Removal on Sunday at 1.45pm. to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Ballacolla for 2pm. Requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.

Laois and formerly of Tallaght, Dublin 24) – May 8, 2024, (unexpectedly), at The Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise, Mantas, beloved son of Zana, dear brother of Erika, Tomas, Emma and Karolis and loving father of Adrianas, Milena and Milana; Sadly missed by his loving son, daughters, mother, brothers, sisters, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing on Monday from 5pm to 7pm at the Ramon Massey & Son Funeral Home, 3 Main Street, Tallaght Village, D24 NY65, (opposite The Priory). Removal on Tuesday to St. Mary’s Priory, Tallaght Village arriving for 11am Mass. Funeral immediately afterwards to Newlands Cross Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Mary Bourne (née Maher)
Ballagh House, Errill, Laois/Threecastles, Kilkenny
The death has occurred peacefully of Mary Bourne (nee Maher) of Lusaka, Zambia and formally of Ballagh House, Errill and Threecastles, Kilkenny.
Predeceased by her husband John, brothers Jim (Ballyspellan, Johnstown) and Fr. Pierce, and sister Annastatia.
Sadly missed by her brothers Jerry (Lisdaleen) and Michael (Ballagh), sisters-in-law Doloures and Kathleen, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass on Saturday 11th May in Lusaka with a memorial Mass to follow in Ireland.
Jean Pim
Anngrove, Mountmellick, Laois
Jean Pim, Anngrove, Mountmellick, Co. Laois died peacefully on May 9th 2024. Wife of the late David. Will be greatly missed by her children Ruthie, Christopher and Alastair, her in – laws Martin, Louise, Gillian and Anna, her grandchildren Alastair, Rebecca and Sam, Reuben and Noah, Josh, Hannah, and Sophie and great-grandchildren Alfie and Ely.
We would like to thank all the amazing staff at Portlaoise Hospital for their nothing short of outstanding care.
Jean will have a private burial in Rosenallis Quaker sleeping ground on Saturday, the 11th of May, with a Quaker service in Rosenallis Church of Ireland at 1 o clock.
