Portlaoise College has announced the winners of this year’s Modern Foreign Language scholarships with four students honoured.
Isabel Stafford and Aoibhinn Grundy secured French Language scholarships, while Julia Dabasi and Caoimhe Murphy claimed the German Language awards.
The French and German Language scholarships offer a valuable opportunity for these students to enhance their linguistic skills, with the students attending Euro Languages College summer school.
Principal Noel Daly expressed congratulations on the students’ accomplishments.
He said: “Isabel, Aoibhinn, Julia, and Caoimhe have shown great commitment to their language studies.
“Their success in winning these scholarships reflects their hard work and the high standard of language education at Portlaoise College.
“Portlaoise College is committed to providing a well-rounded education, and the investment in these language scholarships is a testament to this commitment. Each course lasts 18 days.
“Students obtain over half an academic year’s focused tuition in the chosen language or 40 hours of classroom learning, and all afternoon and evening activities are fun-filled in the target language.
“The scholarship covers accommodation, full board and tuition.”
