Formerly of Whiteswall, Galmoy County Kilkenny. Suddenly at his residence. Predeceased by his parents John and Elizabeth. Sadly missed by his loving partner Bridin, sons Denis and Trevor and their mother Marie, daughters-in-law Danielle and Avril, grandchildren Jordan, Mia and Senan, sisters Mary and Margaret, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

The family would like to thank you for your help and understanding at this sad and difficult time.

Bridget Maguire (née Mooney) – Strattonstown, Ballinea, Mullingar, Co Westmeath and formerly of Kilbride House, Portarlington, Co Laois – November 5, 2023 (peacefully) in the company of her loving husband and family at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by her parents Christopher and Mary and her brothers Charlie and Christy. A loving wife, sister, aunt and friend;  Bridget will be deeply missed by her heartbroken husband and best friend Tom, her loving sister Betty and brother Johnny, her dear nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and many friends.

Rachel Krechnyak (née Moynan)
Coolbaun, Castlecomer, Kilkenny, R95TC6E / Durrow, Laois

Rachel passed away peacefully, on 28th October 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Predeceased by her father Edmond. Beloved wife of James and much loved mother of Caleb, Benjamin and Brianna. Rachel will be dearly missed by her husband and children, mother Elizabeth Moynan, daughter-in-law Diana, brothers Ian, Norman, Winston, Philip and Wesley, sister June, parents-in-law Jim and Helen, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her home in Coolbaun (R95TC6E) on Friday (10th Nov.) from 4pm to 7pm. House private at all other times. Funeral Service on Saturday afternoon (11th Nov) at 2pm in Kilkenny Presbyterian Church, New Road, Kilkenny. A private cremation Service will follow on Monday.

Mary B. Behan
Ballickmoyler, Carlow/Kildare Town, Kildare/Ballickmoyler, Laois

Mary B. Behan,Bishopsland, Kildare Town, Co. Kildare and formerly Tierernane, Ballickmoyler, Carlow, passed away unexpectedly, on November 2nd , 2023, at her home.

Beloved daughter of Jackie and Carmel and much loved sister of John, Joe, Anne, Maurice, Michael, Brede and Helen.

She will be sadly missed by her loving parents, brothers, sisters, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her parents’ home, Tierernane, Ballickmoler (Eircode R93 T380) from 3pm on Wednesday, November 8th, concluding with prayers at 7pm that evening. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 12 Noon in St. Abban’s Church, Killeen, (Eircode R93 HK58) and will be followed by burial, with her beloved grandparents Jack and Molly, in the adjoining cemetery.

Patrick (Pat) Phelan
Rushall, Pike of Rushall, Laois

Patrick (Pat) Phelan, Rushall, Pike of Rushall, Portlaoise, Co. Laois (Ex. Bord Na Mona and caretaker of St Fergals College Rathdowney,​​ November 4th, 2023. Peacefully, in the Regional Hospital Waterford. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Patricia, daughters Carol, Alison and Sandra, son Michael, his 13 grandchildren, sons in law Michael and Ian, daughter in law Hannah, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, very good neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Guilfoyle’s Funeral Home, Castletown, Eircode R32 TN84, this Monday evening (Nov. 6th.) from 6 o’c with rosary and prayers at 8 o’c. Pat’s Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning (Nov. 7th.) at 11 o’c in the Pike of Rushall Church, Eircode R32 V320, with burial immediately afterwards in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Mountrath.

House Private, please at all times.

Pat’s family would like to thank you for your support and co-operation at this sad and sensitive time.

The Phelan family wish also to thank the doctors, nurses and staff in St. Vincent’s Hospital Dublin and The Regional Hospital Waterford, for their kindness and care given to Pat during his illness.

Raisa Ernestsone “Burnville” Ballyfin Rd Portlaoise and formerly from Bigaunciems, Latvia, passed away peacefully on 2 November 2023, at home surrounded by Maija and her loving family. Dearly loved mother to Emerita, Ilze, Janis, Maija and cherished grandmother to Max, Sofia and grandkids in Latvia Elvis, Kitija, Eriks, Lienite, Deinis, Hugo and Otto.

Deeply missed by her loving family and son in law Vinnie, sister Klaudija, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home Portlaoise on Monday evening from 6.30 till 8 pm. Requiem mass will take place on Tuesday at 12 noon in St Peter and Paul’s Church ww.portlaoiseparish.ie/webcam/  Cremation will follow in Newlands Cross Crematorium.

No flowers or mass cards by request. Donations if desired may be made to the Cuisle Centre Portlaoise.

Maura Bridget Nicholson – Clohessy (née Jordan)
Patrick Street, Mountrath, Laois

Maura Bridget Nicholson – Clohessy (née Jordan), London and late of Patrick Street, Mountrath, Co. Laois , died 18th October 2023. Predeceased by her husband Michael, parents Mary and John, her brothers and sisters. Sadly missed by her children Steve and Michelle, grandchildren Sorrel, Persephone, Lavinia and Emma, great-grandchildren Rory, Florence and Theodore, daughter-in-law Caroline, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath on Monday November 6th from 7.0’clock, concluding with Rosary at 8 o’clock. Removal on Tuesday morning to St. Fintan’s Church, Mountrath (Eircode R32X338), for Requiem Mass at 10 o’clock, followed by burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Mountrath.
