Portlaoise College celebrated its annual Intercultural Day on Tuesday, October 17.
The event showcased the remarkable diversity of its student body. With over 30 nationalities represented in the College.
The campus was a tapestry of colours, languages, traditions and most importantly, food.
The event served as a testament to the college’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment.
Principal Noel Daly highlighted the significance of the day. He said: “Intercultural Day is a reflection of the tapestry that is Portlaoise College.
“Our school community is home to over thirty nationalities and it is great to see them all come together to celebrate our differences, learn from one another, and appreciate the strength that diversity brings to our community.”
The event was organised by Home School Liaison Sean O’Neill who emphasised the educational value of the event.
He said: “Intercultural Day is an opportunity for our students to gain a deeper understanding of the world around them.
“It’s a chance to learn about various cultures, share experiences, and have some tasty treats from around the globe.”
