Due to unforeseen circumstances, Clonaslee Badminton Club are announcing a rescheduled open night for their 2023/2024 season.
The club committee wish to reiterate their desire to welcome new membership, not only from Clonaslee but surrounding areas across Laois and Offaly.
All ages (17+) and abilities are encouraged to attend the open night.
Whether you’re trying the sport for the first time or a seasoned player searching for a new club, you will be warmly welcomed and supported on every step of your journey.
If you have any questions, you can find Clonaslee Badminton Club on Facebook, or you can call Darren (086 2761294) or Mary (086 8562873).
Clonaslee Badminton Club is led by experienced, enthusiastic members who are eager to share their knowledge, support the development of beginners, and encourage those who’ve already put their skills to the test.
Despite the challenges presented by the pandemic, the fledgling badminton club has already achieved major goals, including a proud moment in January when the men’s team won the coveted South West Leinster Badminton League Men’s Grade 7.
The team also played a leading role in welcoming members of the Ukrainian community and sharing their skills during their stay in Clonaslee.
Owing to excellent facilities at Clonaslee Community Centre, there is ample space to accommodate anyone who wishes to get on the court and embrace a sport that offers multiple health benefits, from reducing stress to improving heart function and muscle strength.
Playing aids weight loss, reduces the risk of diabetes, and a regular match is a means of increasing your lung capacity.
