Formerly of Newtown, Bert, Athy. Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in the loving care of the staff in Our Lady’s Ward , St. Vincent’s Hospital ,Athy. Sadly missed by her loving daughters Mary, Esther, Joan, Agnes, Christine and Rose, brothers, sisters, sons-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. House private please.
Reposing at Rigney’s Funeral Home, Athy on Monday evening (August 28th) from 6pm until the conclusion of the Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Tuesday morning to arrive at St Mary’s Church, Barrowhouse for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.
Kathleen Horan (née Dempsey)
Strahard, Mountmellick, Laois, R32VOF2
Kathleen Horan (nee Dempsey) Strahard, Mountmellick and formerly of Killelary, Geashill Co.Offaly passed away peacefully August 25th at home in the loving care of her family in her 91st year. Predeceased by her loving husband Paddy, her parents Michael and Anne, brothers Martin, Paddy, Rev.Fr.William and Peter. Deeply regretted by her family Brendan, Mildred and Fintan daughter-in-law Moira, her brothers Fr. Sean and Fr. Vincent, Grandchildren Sinead, John, Claire, Padraig, Ellen and partners Diarmuid and Louise, her great friend Aisling, neices, nephews, cousins, Bab and Mona and her many friends.
Reposing in her home on Sunday from 3pm Recital of The Rosary at 8pm. Removal from her home on Monday at 10 am to St. Joseph’s Church arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial after in St.Joseph’s Cemetery.

Paddy Brennan Pallas Big, Portlaoise. August 26th 2023. Peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Michael and Phoebe Brennan Boughlone. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (Peggy) nee O’Meara. Dearly loved father to Mary Rowney, Martina Makim and Michael. Cherished grandfather to Cillian, Ciarán , Phoebe, Conall, Luke, Ellen and Zach. Deeply regretted by his loving family. Son in laws Gerard and Paul. Brother in law Timmy Butler. Nieces, nephews, relatives , neighbours and friends. Predeceased by his sisters Betty Short and Kathleen Kavanagh
Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home from 5 pm on Sunday evening. Removal on Sunday evening to SS Peter and Pauls church for 7.30 pm. Requiem mass at 12 noon on Monday followed by interment in the New Cemetery Ballyfin.

Elizabeth (Betty) Clear, “Glencarrig”, Dublin Rd., Portlaoise, 24th August 2023. Peacefully, at Ashley Lodge Nursing Home, Kildare. Daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Clear. Deeply regretted by her loving sister Cecilia O’Keeffe, her loving nephews Ray, Neil and Emmett, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives and friends and former colleagues in the Sisters of Charity at St Joseph’s, Clonsilla.
Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home, Portlaoise, on Monday evening from 7 pm with rosary at 8 pm. Removal on Tuesday to arrive at SS Peter and Pauls Church for 12 noon requiem Mass. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Vincent Fitzpatrick (VF66), Paddock, Mountrath, Co.Laois. Died 24th August 2023 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a short illness. Beloved husband of Paula, much loved dad to Odile and Kate. Sadly missed by his wife, daughters, mother Ann, sisters Ann Marie, Bernadette, and Mary, brothers Dan and Eddie, parents-in-law Fintan and Peg (Russell), brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at his home (eircode R32NH31) on Friday and Saturday evening from 4.p.m concluding with Rosary at 8.30p.m. each evening. Removal on Sunday morning to St. Edmund’s Church, Castletown (eircode R32KT22), for Requiem Mass at 12 noon, followed by Burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Mountrath.
