Two students from Mountmellick Community School achieved 613 points as the Leaving Cert results for 2023 were revealed this morning.
Jessica Gill and Cathal McEvoy both scored the impressive total while all of their peers did well.
Cathal is a past pupil of Clonaghadoo NS and hails from Kilcavan while Jessica comes from Cloneygowan – just over the border in Offaly.
A significant number of students in Mountmellick CS achieved over 500 points with others over 600 points
Principal Larry Curtin congratulated all of the class of 2023 and is looking forward to see what their futures hold.
He said: “We are also delighted to see the excellent results achieved by other students who also achieved their potential and will progress to their chosen area.
“This would not have been possible without the assistance of their teachers over the past number of years along with the support of their Parents.
“Having taken the decision to afford students the opportunity to access their results in school as in previous years rather than online, many preferred this option and it was marvellous to see their excitement and delight when opening their result.
“As you can appreciate, we are delighted with the results of our class of 2023 and we are looking forward to their future.”
