Tender documents have been issued for the building of two new special educational needs classrooms and a new on-site car park at Castletown Primary School.
A new 19-space car park inside the school grounds and a drop-off point will be part of the development.
Sean Fleming TD, Minister for Foreign Affairs said he is pleased at the news.
He said: “I welcome this news for Castletown Primary School.
“This new extension and car parking arrangements are badly needed in the school.
“The building of these new classrooms for special educational needs will provide quality resources that these children deserve.
“I also welcome the new car parking arrangements which will be made as part of these works.
“This will make it much safer for children and those driving on the road.
“I thank the school management for their work and I look forward to the tender process completing and the building works commencing as soon as possible.”
