Cistercian College Roscrea haved announced the appointment of Mr Frank Kelly as Deputy Head of Boarding and Dean of Study.
Mr Kelly joins Cistercian College with a wealth of experience and knowledge of boarding schools in Ireland.
He holds a primary degree from NUIG as well as a H.Dip in education and taught accounting, maths and business studies in his early career.
He joins Cistercian College via Kilkenny College and Clongowes Wood College the latter where he worked as Deputy Assistant Headmaster and Head of Boarding for seventeen years
Announcing Mr Kelly’s appointment, the Head of Boarding at Cistercian College, Mr Felix Ross said:
“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Frank Kelly to the team. Frank will undertake the role of Deputy Head of Boarding and Dean of Study and brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for education and student welfare, which align perfectly with our college’s ethos.
“We are excited about the positive impact he will make and look forward to the collective efforts we will make as a team to further enrich the lives of our students at Cistercian College.
Speaking on his appointment, Mr Kelly said:
“I am looking forward to taking up my new role at Cistercian College Roscrea as Deputy Head of Boarding and Dean of Study and look forward to working closely alongside Felix Ross and the whole team in CCR during the coming academic year.”
The Chairman of the Board of Management, Mr Kevin Keegan, said:

“Having recently added both Ireland under 19 and Munster Coach, Mr Mark Butler, as the Director of Rugby; and Tipperary Coach and former player, Mr Tommy Dunne as Hurling Coach, we are delighted that Mr Kelly is joining the team.
“Mr Kelly’s appointment strengthens the Colleges emphasis on discipline and holistic education linking high quality teaching with with a structured study program.
“The appointment of Mr Kelly coupled with our President Mr Colm Maloney our Head of Boarding Mr Felix Ross and the existing team positions Cistercian College as one of the strongest Boarding Schools in the Country.”
Cistercian College Roscrea was founded by the Cistercian monks of the Strict Observance (OCSO) at Mount Saint Joseph Abbey in 1905 and is located on the Abbey’s 600-acre campus on the Tipperary-Offaly border.
It is now administered by a Board of Management under the patronage of the Abbot and Community of Mount Saint Joseph. It has a current enrollment of 250 boys.
