Mary B died at St.Vincent’s Private Hospital Dublin. Deeply regretted by her husband John, sons Eoin, Donal and Conor, brothers John, Donal and Philip, sisters Bernie, Kathleen, Carmel and Breda, uncles, brothers in law, sisters in law, daughters in law Claire, Rowena and Emma, nieces, nephews, grandchildren Jack, Finn, Aodha, Quinn and Zara, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Jonathan McCowen, Brisbane. Formerly Station Road, Portarlington, Co. Laois. It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Jonathan “Micko” McCowen, after a long illness, bravely battled. Beloved husband and soulmate of Sherie, and adoring dad of Darcy and Riley. Predeceased by his parents, Jon and Marie McCowen. Johnny will be sadly missed every day by Sherie, Darcy and Riley, his sister Louise (Galway), his brothers Paul (Naas) and Mark (Poland), sisters-in-law Maureen and Ladda, niece, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and his wide circle of friends at home and abroad.
Bridget (Bridie) Nolan (née Brennan)
Oldcourt, Ballylinan, Laois / Ballinakill, Laois / Athy, Kildare
Formerly of The Buildings, Knock, Ballinakill, Co. Laois. In her 94th year. Wife of the late Christopher. Deeply regretted by her loving children Maura, Bernadette, Anne, Angela and Liam, sons-in-law Ignatius and Joe, Liam’s partner Helene, sister-in-law Nora, grandchildren James, Kevin, Teresa, Edel and Colm, great-grandchildren Maebh, Róisín and Ned, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Reposing at her daughter Bernadette’s residence (R14 V250 , Graigue, Ballylinan) on Wednesday afternoon (July 19th) from 2pm until the conclusion of the Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Thursday afternoon to arrive at St. Anne’s Church, Ballylinan, for Requiem Mass at 2pm. Burial afterwards in St. Anne’s Cemetery.

Thomas Scully

Formerly of 5 Marian Ave. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Johanna, and his loving partner Dolores. Much loved father of Mark and Dylan. Deeply regretted by his loving family, Mark’s partner Caroline, grandson Finn, brothers and sisters Noel, Colm, Geraldine, Mary, Patrick, Martin, Angela, Bosco and Eamonn, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews and grandnephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home on Thursday 20th from 2pm to 8pm, with rosary recital at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Friday at 12 noon in St Peter and Paul’s Church, followed by interment in St. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.
Barbara Michalec

Barbara Michalec, of Mountmellick, Co.Laois and formerly of Frydman, Poland. July 16th 2023. Peacefully in the presence of her loving husband at Tallaght University Hospital. Sadly missed by her heartbroken family, husband Stan, children Agata and Jakub, parents, sisters, brothers, niece, extended family, close friends and neighbours.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to all the staff at Tallaght University Hospital who cared for our beloved Barbara throughout her illness.
Barbara will be laid to rest in her hometown of Frydman. Arrangements for a requiem mass will be announced.

Robert Armitage, Clonygowan, Ballyfin / Ballylusk, Ballyfin, Co.Laois. Died 15th July 2023, (unexpectedly), predeceased by his father Austin, sister Eithne, nephew Adam, and cousin Leslie. Sadly missed by wife Liz, stepchildren Finbarr, Hazel, Noel, Alan, Stephen and Robert, his 8 step grandchildren, mother Frances, brother Austin, sisters Gloria and Olivia, uncle Herbert, aunt Helen, sister-in-law Stephanie, brothers-in-law Robert and Paul, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Reposing in Burke’s Funeral Home, Mountrath on Tuesday evening from 4.30 p.m. concluding with prayers at 7.30 p.m. Removal on Wednesday afternoon at 2.15 p.m. to St. John the Baptist Church, Ballyfin, for Funeral Service at 3 p.m. (via Ballylusk), followed by Burial in the adjoining churchyard.
Patrick (Pat) Wynne
Hillside View, Clonaslee, Laois/Ferbane, Offaly
Patrick (Pat) Wynne, Hillside View, Clonaslee, Co. Laois; late of Cloolnahinch, Ferbane, Offaly.
Pat died on July 14th 2023, after a short illness, bravely borne, surrounded by his loving family, at Tallaght Hospital. He was a native of Coolnahinch, Ferbane, and was predeceased by his beloved father Andrew.
Pat will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving son, Andrew, mother Elizabeth, sisters Mary Slevin (Rosemount) and Pauline Bracken (Moyclare), brother Sean (Boora), brothers-in-law John and Ian, sister-in-law Elaine, uncle, aunts, Carmel, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.
