RTE have been stuck in the headlines themselves for all the wrong reasons for almost a month now – but away from the Ryan Tubridy saga, the show must go on.
This evening a segment of the Six One News will be broadcast from Portlaoise as part of their annual routine to film from locations around the country during the summer.
Last week they were in Ballina and this evening the TV cameras will be in Portlaoise.
After the top three stories, they will go to presenter Sharon Tobin, who will be live from The Cube, the recently-opened low-carbon working space that is home to a number of local businesses.
Caroline Hofman, the Director of the Cube and former CEO of Laois Chamber, will be among those to feature.
It’s also planned that sports reporter David Kelly will be on location where he will be looking ahead to the weekend GAA action with Laois footballer and local business owner Kieran Lillis.
Given the nature of news, that schedule may change slightly.
