A popular Laois coffee shop has announced it will be closing its doors for the final time on Saturday, July 15.
Sinéad Cooper, owner of the Cosy Café in Mountrath, announced the decision today.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must tell you that after 13 years the Cosy Café Mountrath will be closing on July 15 for the final time,” posted Sinéad on social media.
“Before I continue there are so many people to thank I would run out of space if I was to list you all individually.
“Firstly, to the many wonderful staff members I have had the privilege to work alongside over the years, words will never do justice to express the gratitude I have for you all in in helping me keep the café running and serving our wonderful little town.
“Thank you for all your hard work and dedication during your time in the café. A special call our to Danielle and Shaua who stuck with me for many years, and I wish you both nothing but success in the future. Thank you so much girls.
“Secondly to the amazing customer base we have established over the 13-year period.
“I am very fortunate to be able to call so many of you my friends and without this little coffee shop our paths may never have crossed. That is the biggest takeaway I have from my time in the square, the relationships and connections I have been lucky to establish with so many of you.
“I always believed that it was more than a café, at times it felt more like a social club ore even an open mic night at a comedy club. There have been so many fond memories made there and I will cherish each and every one.
“Finally to all my wonderful suppliers. When I started the café I wanted to use the best ingredients to create wholesome, simple and freshly-prepared meals.
“I am as blown away today as I was back then when I think about the range of suppliers and the pride they have in their crafts. We really are blessed in Co Laois to have some of the best suppliers in the country. I wish you all the very best in the future.
“While this may be the end of the road for the Cosy Café, it is the beginning of my new venture.
“Many of you may know this by now that above the café I have set up a Spa/Beauty Room and have been taking bookings for the past few months. It is a sector in which I have worked in for the past 20 years, having studied it in college and I am very passionate about it.
“It is early days yet but I have been very fortunate in meeting some wonderful clients so far and hopefully my client list will continue to grow.
“I will be updating my social accounts from the Cosy Café to the salon once the café is closed which will allow you all keep up to date with any promotions or offers available.
“Go raibh maith agaibh.
“Sinéad x”.
