Laois GAA club receives planning permission for new project

A Laois GAA club has received planning permission from the County Council to begin works on a new project.

Colt GAA Club applied in September of 2022 for permission to construct a new sports hall, and just recently received the go-ahead.

The construction of the new sports hall is to incorporate changing rooms and a referees room at ground floor level.

A club room is set to be built at first floor level, which should make for an impressive new venue.

The project will also include the decommissioning of the existing septic tank.

A new wastewater treatment system and all associated and ancillary works will be included in the project.

Colt have been raising funds for the new build since they hosted a race night in Doogue’s Pub in Raheen last November.

“This facility will be of value to the community of Raheen and all of its teams,” a spokesperson said.

Des Kilmartin has been named as the architect for the project.
