A Laois Montessori has had a wonderful visit from the local Fire Service, much to the delight of their young students.
Majella’s Montessori in Mountmellick was thrilled to welcome the fire fighters to their school and they snapped a fabulous selection of pictures to commemorate the day.
Majella’s was established in 1999 and over the 24 years, have had the pleasure of successfully guiding over 500 children.
The school currently have 4 staff members, including owner and manager, Majella Fitzpatrick, Edwina Gammell, Jenny McPartland and Donna DeLea.
As part of the Curriculum, Majella’s Montessori school immerse themselves in the local Mountmellick Community and pride themselves on being part of an inclusive environment.
Playing a part in community involvement begins with an awareness of what resources exist locally.
The inclusion of a community wall in the school’s learning environment is a good tool to ensure that the service is recognised and appreciated.
Mountmellick Fire Service has a proud history of sending their fire fighters to local schools and creches, which is always a wonderful treat for the children.
The visit of the Fire Brigade is the latest in a long line of visits that the school has initiated to grow ties with the town.
Previous visitors have included An Garda Siochana, the local lolly-pop Lady, Mountmellick Yarn bombers, local bee keepers and the Mountmellick Library.
