Laois Division 2 Feile Hurling Final
Borris-Kilcotton were crowned Division 2 Feile champions this evening following a comprehensive win over Abbeyleix this evening.
They had 23 points to spare in the end as they were in control of this one from start to finish.
Borris-Kilcotton put the game to bed inside the first five minutes with a supreme display.
Ross Quinlan got proceedings underway with a goal as he and Conor Kirby followed that with points.
Kirby then smashed in a goal before Jack McCormack rattled in a third green flag as there was now 11 points between the teams.
Ryan Brennan got Abbeyleix underway after 12 minutes but that would prove to be their only score of the first half.
Callum Jones grabbed a fourth goal for Borris-Kilcotton as points from Kirby, Ryan Fitzgerald, Dylan Bergin and Frank McGovern left it 4-6 to 0-1 at half time.
Abbeyleix were better in the second half as Brennan added a second point and midfielder Cathal Noone hit a brace.
But it was goals they needed and they didn’t come – instead, Borris-Kilcotton added two more via Conor Kirby and Dylan Bergin.
The same players then added points as Borris-Kilcotton ran out convincing winners.
