The winners of the Men’s and Women’s Winter League at The Heath Golf Club were crowned recently.
The competition ran from early January and concluded in the last weekend of February.
The Winter League lasted for six weeks and comprised of six different events.
Two of them were 12 hole competitions, two more were 15 hole competitions and the last two were 18 holes.
In the men’s competition, top 40 players after this were then split into eight teams of five for the final weekend.
They played on two days where their scores, in a Stableford format, were added together.
In the men’s event, the team of Cathal Whelan, Gerry Kavanagh, John B Conroy, Liam Delaney and Tom Harrison were the winners.
While The Rabbits – comprising of Maria Delaney (Captain), Therese Ryan, Paddy O’Sullivan, Elsie Cummins, Roisin Adams, Ursula Horgan, Grainne Ryan and Carmel Fox – were the winners of the women’s event.
